Ghostface Killah - The Champ
Today, we have a very special Quitting Time with Ghostface Killah. Today marks the end of my 2-year experiment with employment. Next is a long-ass summer vacation before I begin a 5-year stint in graduate school.
Back in December, I predicted my last day:
I expect this all culminates with my wearing flip-flops, mesh shorts, and a zipper hoodie without an undershirt on my last day of work. It is unclear whether I will be wearing that because it is my last day or the other way around, but either way I will have made my mark on the place.
It’s fitting (if you know who my boss is) that I mark the end of my employment by getting a prediction about the future so horribly wrong. Rather than flip flops and and a hoodie, I’ll be wearing a tuxedo for my final work function, which begins in a few hours. I even shaved, and I will look all sorts of put together. My swagger is Mick Jagger, as Ghost puts it.
